Ever wondered what a life coaching session is really like? Now is your chance to be a fly on the wall in this sample life coaching session led by Inner Glow Circle Coach Training graduate, Thea Sobers Charles.
We get asked all the time, what is a life coaching session really like? Is it emotional? Empowering? Serious? Entertaining?
It really depends on who the client is and what they bring to the call.
In this sample life coaching session, Thea’s client wants to talk about making a career change.
Notice how Thea holds space for her client to answer questions without butting in or trying to give advice.
That’s what life coaching is all about! Asking the right questions and then holding space for the client to really dig deep into their request and ultimately reach a breakthrough. Not giving advice.
Powerful questions Thea asks:
- What do you ultimately want to do?
- What do you see yourself doing?
- What’s holding you back from having that?
- What do you think the first step would be in getting there?
- When do you feel most confident?
Thea even role plays as her client’s boss so that her client can practice having the conversation she wants to have with her boss.
Life coaching sessions can consist of many different things. Role playing, powerful questioning, breakdowns, breakthroughs, goal setting, strategy planning, the list goes on.
This is just one example!
